landscape is a must have,
not a nice to have

Established in 1995, Farrer Huxley was born out of a belief that landscape makes a fundamental difference to people’s lives. Through over 20 years as a practice we have come to understand the power of putting people’s needs at the centre of distinctive, timeless, robust and environmentally sensitive places. Today, we continue to advocate on behalf of the many, pushing for everyone’s right to quality places.

As an award-winning practice we have a number of nationally recognised, exemplar schemes which have been acknowledged for their community driven regeneration, masterplanning and quality public realm design.

How we work

engage & collaborate

We bring together communities, stakeholders and the design team to enable a dialogue. Building strong relationships allows us to get to the heart of community needs, resulting in places that are meaningful to the people who use them.

We collaborate with the wider design team to fully integrate landscape with architecture for the benefit of end users.

Encourage & Empower

We empower communities by listening, responding and embracing their participation in the design process.

We encourage people to engage with their landscape because places built upon the needs of those who use them can sustain and evolve.

challenge & advocate

We build on knowledge and experience but don’t settle for precedent. We have no formula for the way we design but we always push for the outcomes that will deliver the greatest benefit to people and place. And - we advocate for everyone’s right to a healthy environment.

BUILD ON THE GOOD

We identify the strengths of this place and this community. And we build on them to create a unique vision for each project.
